Please read the following details carefully.
East London is undergoing some of the most extensive regeneration in the whole of the capital. This study tour will take in a number of key regeneration sites, including a large scale scheme around the Royal Victoria Docks and the Siemens Urban Sustainability Centre (The Crystal); Britannia Village; and a smaller, community-led scheme at Cody Dock, which aims to transform a derelict dock into a thriving waterside community.
This tour will predominantly be carried out on foot, using public transport to reach east London and to travel between sites. Subject to the weather there will be also be the opportunity to take the Emirates Cable Car across from North Greenwich to the Royal Victoria Docks. This will give a fantastic visual overview of the area.
There are limited places on the tour which costs £62.00. This includes guides, a light lunch and return transport from central London (Travel card). Because the package includes travel, we are required to account for it under the Tour Operators’ Margin Scheme rules for VAT purposes. Accordingly, invoices and receipts will not include VAT.
Tour highlights (please note that there may be changes to the tour on the actual day) to include:
The tour will finish at approximately 5pm in Westfield Stratford City. From here delegates can get the shuttle bus to the evening IFHP reception being held at Forman’s Fish Island. The shuttle bus will be departing regularly from 6.30pm for a 7pm start at the reception. Alternatively, delegates can use their London travel card (incorporated in the study tour price) to return to central London.
Please note that a separate tour of The Crystal will also be taking place on the Monday 10th June as one of the afternoon study tours.
