The TCPA has been working with cross-sector organisations to produce guidance for local authorities and pratitioners to accompany the new National Planning Policy Framework. This includes the latest guide by the Planning and Climate Change Coalition, 'Planning for Climate Change - guidance for local authorities' and 'Planning for a healthy environment: good practice for green infrastructure and biodiversity’.
‘Reuniting health with planning: healthier homes, healthier communities’ (July 2012) handbook is the first of its kind since the Government set out a radical reform agenda across the planning and health sectors, including a requirement on planners to work with public health organisations, and a new public health responsibility for local authorities. It explains the relevance of these reforms for health and planning, and gives planners and public health practitioners ideas for how they can work together.
'Your place, your plan' is a community guide designed to help anyone who wants to get involved in the planning process and shape their local area. The guide has been supported by The Co-operative Group and the TCPA-led GRaBS (Green and Blue Space Adaptation in Urban Areas and Eco-towns) project.
The ‘TCPA By Design Guides for Sustainable Communities’ are practical guides for planners, urban designers, developers, community groups and to anyone engaged in creating sustainable communities.
