Volunteering with the TCPA - Administrative and Project Volunteers
This position is a great way of getting an insight into the scope of the Town and Country Planning Association’s work. Providing general support to everyone in the office, including the Chief Executive, you will be a valuable asset to the smooth running and advancement of the organisation. In addition, you will be given a project within your capacity to work on, supervised by a member of staff.
Number of days required: We ask for a minimum commitment of two days per week over a time period negotiated with a supervisor.
Experience: Some knowledge of Microsoft Office packages. Good written communication skills and planning knowledge are essential.
General Information about Volunteering: Please be aware that this position is unpaid. However, on production of receipts/tickets, we will refund the cost of lunch (up to £5 per day) and standard travel expenses up to an agreed amount on the days worked at TCPA.
Regrettably, we are unable to assist non-UK residents who are planning to volunteer in the UK with visa applications or finding accommodation. Please note that work cannot be carried out from home by volunteers. Please also be aware that if you choose to volunteer for the TCPA you are required to inform us about illness or other commitments that may interfere with your work for the Association.
The TCPA is committed to equal opportunities and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
If you are interested in volunteering at the TCPA then please send a CV with a covering letter to Stuart Thomas at stuart.thomas@tcpa.org.uk or alternatively by post to: TCPA, 17 Carlton House Terrace, London, SW1Y 5AS.
