The TCPA has worked to produce a series of advice worksheets to complement the programme of eco-towns. The worksheets are supported by the Department for Communities and Local Government (CLG) and represent a comprehensive set of policy and planning guidance, on the range of subject areas to be addressed when planning an eco-town.
Each worksheet offers an overview of the subject followed by further information and guidance. Where possible, good practice boxes are included, as well as links to further information. Over time, as more detailed information becomes available, they will be updated and re-issued.
TCPA worksheets
The issues covered in the Sustainability Worksheets need to be taken into account as masterplans for eco-towns are developed and assessed under the planning process. The TCPA believes that only eco-town proposals that have the potential to meet the highest standards demanded should be given the go-ahead.
The Worksheets aim to ensure that the unique opportunities presented by building an eco-town are captured and exploited in the interests of sustainable development.
