Please join us for this timely TCPA New Communities Group half-day seminar about connecting utilities to new large-scale developments. Utilities are often cited as the cause of delay in delivering new developments. In the recent Housing White Paper, Government committed to reviewing 'Better Connected' - which in 2014 set out the process for securing utility provision for developments from initial scoping to post-development. This seminar will look at the issue from a cross sector of views to establish how local authorities can help to ensure that utilities planning and delivery are aligned with the development of large-scale new communities.

Speakers include:

  • Martin Hurst, Senior Strategic Adviser, Water UK
  • John Marsh, Metropolitan Director, Brookfield Utilities UK Group (BUUK)
  • Hugh Ellis, Policy Director, TCPA

Further speakers to follow.

This seminar is part of the TCPA New Communities Group (NCG) programme of events. The NCG consists of local authorities and development corporations bringing forward large-scale new developments, from Garden City inspired new towns and villages to urban regeneration and extension schemes. Further information on joining the NCG is available here.
