Events Our events TCPA workshop for councillors: Planning for flood risk *This event has now sold out. If you would like to be added to the waiting list please email [email protected]* This workshop will explore the potential of the English planning system to manage the growing risk of flooding from rivers, the sea, ground water and surface water. It will cover both the local plan development and development management processes and look at the economic imperative to plan for flood risk, in particular from an insurance perspective. The presentations and subsequent discussion will focus on what councillors must do to ensure that planning decisions in their local area take full account of risk of flooding. This workshop is suited to newly elected councillors or those recently elected to planning committees of English local authorities. Places are limited to allow participants to actively participate, so please sign up early to avoid disappointment. This workshop will take place on Zoom so make sure your IT department will allow the use of Zoom. Please carry out a Test Meeting in advance to test your system compatibility, internet connection and audio settings to ensure you will be able to participate. You can do this here. We will share the link to join the meeting with participants a few days beforehand. Please note this workshop is for local authority elected members only.
