The RTPI and TCPA are publishing a new edition of our joint guidance for local authorities on planning for climate change which will be launched at this online event. The new guidance will provide a summary of the legal and policy requirements for planning for climate change (both mitigation and adaptation) and will explain how this should be interpreted into the local development plan and development management processes. The guidance will cover the whole of the UK and will be an introductory resource for professionals working in the planning system,

This FREE event will be chaired by Fiona Howie, Chief Executive of the TCPA.  Hear from the lead authors of the new guide, Hugh Ellis and Jessie Fieth, followed by responses from a number of high-profile speakers, including Chair of the TCPA, Rt Hon. Nick Raynsford, Chair of the RTPI, Dr Wei Yang, and Chair of the Adaptation Sub Committee, Baroness Brown.  There will be the opportunity to put questions to the panel towards the end of the webinar.
