SUMMARY:TCPA Autumn Training programme - Planning update and the new NPPF  
DESCRIPTION:Session purpose:  \n\n\n\nThe Government’s new National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) was published on August 17th setting the direction of a whole new generation of local and strategic plans. There are also a wide range of other changes to national policy which continue to be implemented.  \n\n\n\nThis training session will give attendees an in depth understanding of the new NPPF and what it means for the planning system as well as give an update on wider planning reforms.  \n\n\n\nKey changes in the publication draft provide hooks for ambitious communities\, councils and their development partners to plan for climate resilient and healthy places. This session is designed to equip local authorities with the tools to secure progressive outcomes while navigating the new planning system and associated policy.  \n\n\n\nWho is this training for?  \n\n\n\nThis session is targeted at planning practitioners\, local authority officers and those interested or working in the planning space.   \n\n\n\nThis session can contribute to your Continued Professional Development – and you can request a CPD certificate after attendance on the course.  \n\n\n\nPlease note\, this event is free for local authority members of the TCPA’s New Communities Group (NCG). DESCRIPTION:The TCPA will be running several online training sessions running from September to December\, covering planning topics in relation to the new NPPF. \n\n\n\nThe Government’s new National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) was published on August 17th setting the direction of a whole new generation of local and strategic plans.   \n\n\n\nAs part of the TCPA’s new chapter under new leadership this training programme is designed to support the sector make the most of the new National Planning Policy Framework to support the delivery of climate resilient and healthy places.  \n\n\n\nSessions will include:  \n\n\n\n\nGeneral planning reform update and implications of the new plan-making system \n\n\n\n\n\nUpdate on decision-making for councillors and elected members \n\n\n\n\n\nTopic specific updates on healthy placemaking  \n\n\n\n\n\nUpdates on planning for climate change adaptation and mitigation as well as carbon  \n\n\n\n\n\nAn update specifically aimed at parish councillors and clerks \n\n\n\n\nThe TCPA has set out its response to the publication of the NPPF in more detail here. Please click on the sessions below to view full course details and book your place.
