Democratic planning is the foundation of successful places and thriving lives. For far too long England has been held back because we are badly organised and defined by poor quality housing and failed infrastructure projects. If we are honest about offering practical hope to people and communities, then we must cut through the chaos and get organised.
Ahead of the next General Election, the Town and Country Planning Association (TCPA) asks all parties to commit to changes that are principled, forensic and practical and will enable the planning system to be a positive and transformational tool for community development.
This manifesto sets out three overarching policy priorities, as well as the six priority actions that must be taken by the end of the first 100 days of a new Government.
