16th October : 10:00 am – 11:30 am
In this webinar, we will explore current issues and opportunities for long-term stewardship in new communities. Drawing on practical experience from current and recent projects the session will explore transferable lessons for those planning for long-term stewardship in new communities. As the New Towns Taskforce publishes its final report highlighting the importance of stewardship, and debate is live on issues such as commonhold, which may have an impact on stewardship, this timely session will also provide space to discuss potential future reforms.
Part of our TCPA New Communities Group series of events, this webinar will offer valuable insight for local councils, planners and communities. The TCPA has produced a wealth of guidance and resources to support those interested long-term stewardship of new communities including a toolkit, briefing note on governance, guidance on securing long-term stewardship through the Development Plan, and two research reports on lessons and barriers from recent experience, drawing on learning from the New Communities Group.
