Following on from our 21st Century New Towns vision published last year, we asked the question, what would a new town look like if it was designed with climate resilience at its heart?
As the government prepares to launch a programme to deliver a new generation of new towns, it is vital that climate resilience is a key objective, to create places where fossil fuels are redundant and people and nature live without fear of fuel poverty or the devasting impacts of overheating and flooding.
This document presents our vision for the Climate Resilient New Town, and outlines exemplar new communities in which future generations can thrive.
The choices we make today will shape how people live for decades to come.
