26th May : 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm
Delivering employment and commercial uses is often one of the most challenging aspects of good placemaking in new communities. Thriving local businesses can help build the crucial social infrastructure that residents need, supporting active travel and developing a sense of place and identity.
Providing town centre activity up front poses significant cashflow and viability challenges, while shifting trends in retail and working patterns have also impacted on investment in new business space. With this in mind, how can we secure vibrant employment and commercial uses in new communities?
This webinar will look at examples of what has worked to deliver employment and commercial uses, including flexible uses, local government intervention and colocation with government services and other anchor tenants. It will provide essential learning and case studies of how these can be delivered in the context of major housing growth.
Important: This event is free for officers from the TCPA New Communities group (NCG), with paid tickets also available. You can check if your authority is a member here: TCPA New Communities Group.
