Session purpose:
The Government’s new National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) was published on August 17th 2026 setting the direction of a whole new generation of local and strategic plans.
This training session will give attendees an understanding of the new NPPF and how it addresses healthy placemaking, the promotion of good health and reducing health inequalities. It will outline key opportunities the NPPF and associated reforms, including the Design and Placemaking Planning Practice Guide provide for Local Plans to create homes and communities that will help people to thrive.

This session is targeted at planning practitioners, local authority members/officers and those interested or working in creating healthy places.
This session can contribute to your Continued Professional Development – and you can request a CPD certificate after attendance on the course.
