Session purpose:
The updated National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) and new National Scheme of Delegation represents a significant change to the way local plans and planning decisions will be made in England. It has the potential to limit the democratic oversight of local decisions.
The training will give a general introduction to planning and provide an update on the planning system in the context of the updated NPPF and other ongoing policy changes.
It will take a high-level scan across the critical issues for local authorities.
Who is this training for?
This session is targeted at councillors and elected members that are involved in planning and want to learn more about planning policy, implementation and impact. The webinar is essential for any councillor who is keen to get a better understanding of the English planning system or what the proposed planning reforms are likely to mean in practice.
